Super Celebration V

Orange County charities are winners at annual Super Bowl party

Mission Viejo – Four local charities were the beneficiaries of an annual Super Bowl party that was hosted by Generation Give and held at the Mission Viejo Country Club. More than 220 people attended the Super Celebration V game-viewing event which raised about $25,000 for the nonprofits.

Generation Give is based in Mission Viejo and supports children’s education, feeding the hungry and relieving the suffering from disease. Its philosophy is “Global causes – local impact.” They identify and work with organizations that make a meaningful difference in a specific community.

Other benefitting charities were South County Outreach, California Parkinson’s Group and Girls Support Network. This is the fifth year that Generation Give has held the event which featured a silent auction and music by Texas Flud. It is one of the organization’s Charity Championship Sunday events.

South County Outreach works to prevent hunger and homelessness by providing emergency food through its food pantry, a transitional housing program, workforce training in its computer learning lab, clothing from its Upscale Resale thrift store, utility and rental assistance. Last year the Irvine-based nonprofit provided more than 52,000 services helping up to 3,000 people a month. For more information, visit www.sco-oc.org.

California Parkinson’s Group was formed to offer support and collaboration among individuals and families living with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease in Orange County through dialog, education and involvement in the medical research community. The charity is based in Irvine. For more information, visit www.calparkinsons.org.
