garden2    classrooom    garden1

For years, Glenn, Kim and Generation Give have worked through partner non-profits Asante Network and Plant with Purpose to help improve the lives of students and teachers in the Mt.Kilimanjaro region in Tanzania. Your wedding gift donation will educate schools on effective gardening to grow their own produce for student meals and provide essential supplies to a personally selected school.

Plus Generation Give will double the first $2500 in donations to make this a wedding gift that will truly “endure and grow”.

Thank You!

Greetings – As many of you know, for five years Generation Give has hosted a “Super Celebration” fundraiser on Super Bowl Sunday. The events have generated nearly $100,000 for local, national and worldwide causes with 100% of all donations passed on to recipients!

This year, we are sponsoring an on-line version of Super Celebration (see attached), where you and your friends can play the “Game Score Game” and win $$$ while donating to very worthy causes. The Game Score Game is similar to “football pools” except that 100% of your square purchase/donation goes to partner charities and Generation Give provides all the prize pay-outs!

For those of you that have attended Super Celebrations in the past, the event will be back next year, bigger and better than ever and with a new name – “Charity Championship Sunday®”

Orange County charities are winners at annual Super Bowl party

Mission Viejo – Four local charities were the beneficiaries of an annual Super Bowl party that was hosted by Generation Give and held at the Mission Viejo Country Club. More than 220 people attended the Super Celebration V game-viewing event which raised about $25,000 for the nonprofits.

Generation Give is based in Mission Viejo and supports children’s education, feeding the hungry and relieving the suffering from disease. Its philosophy is “Global causes – local impact.” They identify and work with organizations that make a meaningful difference in a specific community.

Other benefitting charities were South County Outreach, California Parkinson’s Group and Girls Support Network. This is the fifth year that Generation Give has held the event which featured a silent auction and music by Texas Flud. It is one of the organization’s Charity Championship Sunday events.

South County Outreach works to prevent hunger and homelessness by providing emergency food through its food pantry, a transitional housing program, workforce training in its computer learning lab, clothing from its Upscale Resale thrift store, utility and rental assistance. Last year the Irvine-based nonprofit provided more than 52,000 services helping up to 3,000 people a month. For more information, visit www.sco-oc.org.

California Parkinson’s Group was formed to offer support and collaboration among individuals and families living with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease in Orange County through dialog, education and involvement in the medical research community. The charity is based in Irvine. For more information, visit www.calparkinsons.org.

The goal of Girls Support Network is to engage, enlighten, and empower middle school girls to become the best that they can be during this transitional time in their lives.  By meeting together monthly and addressing important issues, we help build strong girls who makesmart choices and thrive during adolescence and beyond. Generation Give, an Orange County based nonprofit organization that supports charities focused on children’s education, feeding the hungry and relieving suffering from disease, hosted its fourth annual “Super Celebration” during the Big Game last Sunday. Held at the Mission Viejo Country Club, the event raised nearly $25,000 for four local Orange County nonprofits. Generation Give’s board members and volunteers welcomed a fun, boisterous crowd of 200 attendees and promoted four charities that are making a difference in the communities they serve.

The Super Celebration included food, drinks and live music along with the Big Game shown on 80” HD flat screens throughout the country club. Exciting opportunity drawings along with “instant” and silent auctions were held with great prizes such as golf packages, fine wine, fun getaway trips, sports tickets, jewelry, original art and more. Generation Give covered the entire cost of the event as part of its goal to ensure that all donations go directly to work for the intended charities. 100% of the funds raised on Sunday were donated to support South County Outreach, California Parkinson’s Group, Mission Within Reach and Generation Give.

Congratulations Walk for Wishes team Wishosauruses!!

We received the following note from the Wishosauruses team captain, Laura:”Dear Generation Give, I can’t thank you enough for your support in this event. We raised $17,182 – the most… of any team, ever!! And that was before the grant match meaning we really raised over $34K for Make a Wish!
Because of your donation, I was able to get everyone on the team to $500+. I also think it was an excellent motivator for people to raise even more, knowing that if they raised enough, they would receive even more from your generous pool. Thank you again!!!”

Congratulations again, Laura and team – all of us at Generation Give are proud of you!
